Flashback to 2015 and I was working about 70 hours a week, rebuilding my business after devastating losses during the recession. I was tired. Really, really tired. I felt like every day was copied and pasted from the day before. I didn’t have time for a social life, let alone any travel whatsoever.
Each night as I drifted off to sleep, I imagined myself exploring castles in France. Or sailing through the Greek islands. Or finally eating my way from the north of Italy to the south!
Then one day I made a decision that would change my entire life...

Each night as I drifted off to sleep, I imagined myself exploring castles in France. Or sailing through the Greek islands. Or finally eating my way from the north of Italy to the south!

I sold my business, gave away everything I owned and moved to Belize (where I didn't know a single soul)!

Yes, it was a bold move but I had a BIG dream and I knew I needed to make a big move to get it underway.
That dream? To travel the world and take other adventurous women with me. I had been hosting retreats for years and I always loved the magic that happens when a group of women get together in an unfamiliar place.
So I put a plan in place and started checking off the many places on my bucket list, First up? Italy!
But that trip turned out to be a bit of a disaster, at least at first. I headed out for three months with WAY too many suitcases (washing machines-duh). I didn't research the customs and I didn't speak a lick of Italian.

I made mistake after mistake: missing trains, buses and boats, getting lost, almost getting arrested (true story for another day 🫣)...
But somewhere along the way, I found my rhythm. I learned from my mistakes. I slowed way down and started having the the time of my life.

So I got busy creating experiences that not only showcase the most amazing places in each destination,
but also teach my participants how to navigate a foreign land like a pro. The results became a series of journeys and happy customers who left our time together feeling fulfilled, empowered and downright gobsmacked.
It's been over 9 years since that fateful decision to move to Belize.
And while I don’t live there anymore, I continue to follow my passion for travel and adventure by being at the helm of Travel Passionistas.
This incredible business has allowed me to showcase the things I’m really good at: creative trip design, effective communication, meticulous attention to detail and savvy marketing.
And as with everything I do, I sprinkle each journey with a generous dose of surprises and delights along the way.
